IFE PV Module Outdoor Test-site
At the test site, several different system configurations and technologies are monitored, including ground-mounted, roof-mounted, wall-mounted and building-integrated (facade mock-up). The test site has extensive weather measurements, including:
- Irradiance in different planes, measured both with thermopile pyranometers (Kipp&Zonen SMP10) and Si-reference cells. Rear-side irradiance for bifacial modules is also measured.
- Direct normal irradiance measured by a pyrheliometer (Kipp&Zonen SHP1 on a SOLYS 2 tracker)
- Diffuse horizontal irradiance measured by a pyranometer (Kipp&Zonen SMP10) with shadow ball on SOLYS 2 tracker
- Albedo measured by pyranometers (Kipp&Zonen SMP10)
- Ambient temperature
- Relative humidity
- Wind speed and wind direction
The PV Module Outdoor Test-site is co-located with IFE’s PV Module Characterization and Testing Laboratory
