IFE has been involved in research on hydrogen for more than 70 years. The hydrogen research at IFE is based on experimental activities supported by advanced modelling. IFE has research activities within production, storage, distribution, and use of hydrogen.
Our in-depth R&D activities within the hydrogen value chain together with our competence on energy systems analysis, flow and material technology combined with extensive activities on solar- and wind power and batteries, makes IFE a valuable and preferred R&D partners towards the green transition.
IFEs R&D activities within the hydrogen value chain is based on long term investments to build robust in-dept competence to help the industry with innovations to increase sustainability by use of innovative technology, increased energy efficiency, reduced use of critical raw materials, reduced cost etc. Although IFE cover most of the hydrogen value chain, we strive to be the preferred partner within selected research areas where we can perform R&D activities based on activities in our advanced laboratories. Please find more information about our R&D activities via the linked topics below.
