HARPERS (HARmonised PracticEs, Regulations and Standards in waste management and decommissioning) is a new Euratom/Horizon Europe project which is jointly coordinated between IFE and SCK CEN.
The overall goal of the HARPERS project is to establish and clarify the benefits and added value of more aligned and harmonised regulations, practices, and standards, in decommissioning and the initial phases of radioactive waste handling, as well as for shared processing, storage and disposal facilities between Member States (MS). HARPERS aims to identify obstacles and issues hampering implementation of a more common regulatory framework.
