“Risk- and Evidence-informed Safety Assurance for D I&C”
Invitation to the HTO Project Workshop on Digital I&C – Safety Assurance
The March 11 workshop will be the first in a series of HTO workshops to understand the state-of-the-art applicable to the assurance of digital instrumentation and control (D I&C) systems for nuclear reactor protection. The workshop series provides an opportunity for participants to learn from experts in different safety critical application sectors.
Each workshop will be organized in panel-based sessions, including discussion. Approximately 40 people are expected to participate in the meetings, including of the HTO Topic 2 technical and research staff.
When and Where?
UPDATE 11th January: In consideration of Covid-19-related travel restrictions to/from some countries, the HTO Workshop series will be virtual. All registrants will receive a link to participate in the workshop. The Virtual Workshop series will be held in three parts, scheduled for March 11th, April 8th and April 21th 2022.

Program and Scope
The Research Director of the IFE Digital Systems, Bjørn Axel Gran, will give the opening address at the workshop.
The Panel Discussion will address the work performed by the Halden Projects, as well as by member organizations.
The items to be covered in the different panel discussion will include:
Topic 2.1: Risk-informed Safety Assurance: To develop the capability to perform risk- informed safety assurance more effectively and efficiently.
Topic 2.2: Evidence for Safety Assurance: To establish technically sound basis for evaluating evidence to support an assurance claim.
