Halden HTO Project Workshop

“Risk- and Evidence-informed Safety Assurance for D I&C”

This is an invitation to the HTO Project Workshop on Digital I&C – Safety Assurance, Virtual Session,
first session on Friday 11th March.

This workshop will be one of the series of HTO workshops and, the 1st for Topic related to digital instrumentation and control (D I&C), arranged to provide an opportunity for experts from different safety critical application sectors to learn from each other about best practices and the state of the art related to D I&C.

The workshop will be organized in panel-based sessions, including discussion across different topics. Approximately 40 people are expected to participate in the meetings, including of the HTO Topic 2 technical and research staff.


When and Where?

UPDATE 11th January: As consideration of Covid-19-related travel restrictions to/from some countries, the HTO Workshop will be organized as a virtual event. All registrants will receive a link to participate to the online sessions.

The Virtual Workshop has been rescheduled as a series of four sessions, planned every two weeks until end of April. The first session of the Virtual Workshop is planned on 11th March 2022.

Program and Scope

The Research Director of the IFE Digital Systems, Bjørn Axel Gran, will give the opening address at the workshop.   

The Panel Discussion will address the work performed by the Halden Projects, as well as by member organizations.

The items to be covered in the different panel discussion will include:

Topic 2.1: Risk-informed Safety Assurance: To develop the capability to perform risk- informed safety assurance more effectively and efficiently.

Topic 2.2: Evidence for Safety Assurance: To establish technically sound basis for evaluating evidence to support an assurance claim.
