Human Factors Engineering

IFE har competence and experience within Human Factors Engineering, in compliance with the guidelines of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the International Organisation for Standardisation and United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission

IFE has competence and experience in Human Factors Engineering, following USNRC guideline NUREG-0711, IAEA SSG-51 and ISO-11064.

Services

  • Lead or join the HFE Team
    Provide HFE services specified in NUREG-0711 and IAEA SSG-51: development of HFE plans and procedures, review/oversee HFE design/development/evaluation, verify implementation of recommendations, ensure compliance between HFE activities and HFE plans & procedures
  • Perform required HFE activities
    Provide the following HFE activities according to NUREG-0711 and IAEA SSG-51:operating experience review, functional requirements analysis & function allocation, task analysis of required staffing and competence, treatment of important human actions, HSI design, assist in procedure development, specify training requirements, planning & conducting human factors verification and validation, confirming the HFE design implementation, and preparing a human performance monitoring plan
  • Access to IFE simulator infrastructureProvide access to our advanced SMR & PWR simulator infrastructure and our highly skilled personnel for development and testing of new operational concepts and of new functions & systems before implementation
