In MoZEES, around 40 partners are collaborating to find zero-emission solutions for road, rail, and sea transportation. The center aims to strengthen and expand scientific, technical, and techno-economic knowledge related to battery and hydrogen technologies in the transport sector. MoZEES particularly contributes to the design and development of safe, reliable, and cost-effective zero-emission solutions for heavy transport applications, focusing on value chains and systems where Norway can take a leading role in the future. The work in MoZEES may lay the foundation for the development of new value chains related to niches such as new materials for Li-ion batteries and new markets such as hydrogen and fuel cells for the maritime sector.

The MoZEES consortium includes seven research institutions and a range of public authorities and user partners from the private sector and industry, from small material specialists to large technology and industrial companies. These partners possess unique expertise and represent complementary strengths and perspectives that together can deliver the best solutions for zero emissions in the heavy transport sector. The center also has a strong focus on education, and at least 13 PhD candidates and 5 postdoctoral researchers will be funded through MoZEES.
