ESSENSE – Light Weight High Entropy Alloys for Safe and Sustainable Energy Storage

Timeframe 2024 – 2027

Budget 919 256 €

Financed by the Research Council of Norway

HESSENSE aims to explore the interaction of hydrogen with lightweight High Entropy Alloys (HEAs) and their corresponding metal hydrides for use in solid-state hydrogen storage, through a collaborative and interdisciplinary effort involving research institutes, universities, and an SME across four European countries.

The project will integrate experimental and numerical approaches, material development, and advanced characterization techniques, alongside techno-economic sustainability assessments.
