CPSEC – Cyber-Physical Security in Energy Infrastructure of Smart Cities

Security and resilience of energy infrastructures in smart cities

The CPSEC project is on the topic of security and resilience of energy infrastructures in smart cities. The CPSEC project aims to develop a comprehensive and systemic approach combining cyber and physical security solutions to protect energy installations from cyber, physical and combined cyber-physical threats. The main technical output of the project will be the Integrated Security, Safety and Site Management platform which will cover a wide variety of concepts, including, systemic risk management, prevention by design, monitoring and detection, response and mitigation, and information sharing.

IFE is responsible for the tasks related to attack scenario prediction, cascading effect, and quantitative risk assessment; Security attack planning and best defensive strategy; Intrusion detection, monitoring and management.

This project is funded by the Research Council of Norway. The Project is a collaboration between the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), IFE, Indian Institute of Information Technology – Allahabad (IIITA), and Indian Institute of Technology – Kanpur (IITK).
